Two extra days optional itinerary for
students who participate in two-sided embroidery class. Others
can arrive early and shop or tour if they don’t wish
to participate in the two- sided class.

Depart USA for Shanghai, China |
April 13 |
Arrive in Shanghai, private transfer
to Pacific Hotel.

April 14
&
April 15 |
Optional two-sided embroidery class
in Pacific Hotel in Shanghai. You will have full
services of teacher and our national guide for translating.
Cost will include complete kit with wooden embroidery
frame, and instruction booklet. Cost will include
your hotel room and meals for those in class. |

Depart USA for Shanghai, arrive one
day later after crossing international dateline.

April 15 |
Arrive in Shanghai, private transfer
from airport to Pacific Hotel, 4-star. Dinner if
you arrive in time. |
April 16 |
Visit to Jin Mao Tower, Shanghai
Museum, free time for shopping on your own. B/L/D. |
April 17 |
Morning flight to Guiyang, Guizhou.
Afternoon bus to Kaili. Grand Dragon Hotel. 4 star.
B/L/D. |
April 18 |
Morning classes for braided cord
technique, (also learn to make braided cord) crepe
technique (pleated, braided cord), stretch thread
stitch (closed buttonhole and modified open chain
stitch). Afternoon visit to Matang village with entertainment.

April 19 |
Morning classes for silk felting
embroidery, folded silk embroidery, horse tail technique,
two needle technique. Afternoon visit to Datang village
with entertainment. B/L/D. |
April 20 |
Morning visit to Kaili textile museum
and Sunday market. Afternoon visit to home of our
teacher, XiaoYang for Miao embroideries. Also visit
to two other local shops for Miao embroidery. B/L/D.

April 21 |
Morning classes for Dazi stitch,
split thread stitch (paper cut), chain stitch. Afternoon
visit to Sister’s Meal Festival. B/L/D. |
April 22 |
Morning classes for short needle
stitch, cord stitch, flat stitch. Afternoon visit
to Langde village with entertainment. Late afternoon
bus to Guiyang and overnight in Guiyang Miracle Hotel.
4 star. B/L/D.

April 23 |
Flight from Guiyang, Guizhou to Kunming,
Yunnan, connecting flight to Lijiang, Yunnan. Grand
Hotel, 3 star. B/D (lunch on your own at Kunming
airport).
Apr 24 Dongba Museum, local market, tie-dye workshop,
evening musical performance. B/L/D.

Tour old town Lijiang and shopping,
free time for massage, etc. B/L/D.

April 26 |
Transfer to airport for flight from
Lijiang to Kunming, connecting flight to Shanghai.
Transfer to Pacific Hotel, 4-star. B/D (lunch on
your own at Kunming airport).

April 27 |
Travel by train to Suzhou to visit
the Suzhou Embroidery Research Institute and the
Silk Reeling Mill in Suzhou, return by train same
day. B/L/D.

April 28 |
Transfer to airport in taxi or van
provided by hotel. Flight to US, arriving home same
day after crossing international dateline. |
Optional extension: can be easily arranged for
anyone wishing more time in Shanghai, at beginning or end
of tour. Shanghai is the greatest shopping opportunity
of China and there are many sites to tour.
Optional extension: to visit Xian and/or Beijing
can be arranged.
