Free day for shopping or touring. You will choose which sites to visit and pay any entrance fees or taxi fees and your own lunch and dinner (private guide can be arranged if needed). Shopping sites might include Pearl Market, Silk Market, Ya Shao (cotton market), and famed Panjiayuan Market (dirt market). B.

Morning visit to Four-Seal Miao. They will meet our group and explain their embroidery design in the shape of a seal Miao King. Afternoon visit to Long Horn Miao village and visit the ecological museum which is sponsored by the Norwegian government. These women are noted for their unique hair style which weighs over 2 kilos. Hair dressing performance by young girls as well as batik demonstration. B/L/D.

Anshun/Guiyang/Kaili. Grand Dragon Hotel, 4 star
Morning visit to Caiguan Old-Han Chinese village to enjoy the traditional Ground Opera performed in the courtyard by actors wearing masks and painted faces. Caiguan is famous for wooden masks made from poplar trees and we will visit a local family to see their unique stone architecture. Visit Dazhai Miao village at Xiangzhigou for basket painting. B/L/D.

Visit to Textile Museum and various other textile galleries and shops. Using our bus for transportation, we will see museum quality textiles at three different locations, we will shop at the stalls in the museum. Numerous street vendors are always nearby our hotel. Villagers from Jianhe (for special tin technique) will meet us at our hotel for demonstration and sales of their textiles. B/L/D.

Visit Jidao Miao village for performance and embroidery demonstration. Visit Taoyao Miao village to see making of pottery for daily use. B/L/D.

Bus to Rongjiang, en route visit Paika Village to see the making of Lusheng bamboo reed pipes, visit to Hundred Birds Miao family in their home has been arranged. We will learn the silk felting technique, they will demonstrate their style of embroidery and batik. Afternoon visit to Chejiang Dong Village with huge banyon trees. Big loom demonstration will be arranged. Shops will be open for us. B/L/D.

Rongjiang/Congjiang/Zhaoxing Zhaoxing Hotel, VIP section, (hotel is best available, not rated)
Morning visit to Yin Tan Dong village, situated high above the clouds, one of my favorite places to visit. Demonstration of process of indigo dying fabric, making of shiny cloth with egg whites, and calendering method (using big wooden mallets to beat the cloth). Afternoon visit to Basha Miao village noted for their unique hair styles for men. A performance will be arranged. Tour Zhaoxing village on arrival. B/L/D. Optional evening musical performance.

Zhaoxing/Sanjiang Sanjiang Hotel, 3 star
Morning visit to Tangan village for panoramic view of Zhaoxing and surrounding area. Visit the local ecological museum that is sponsored by Norwegian government. Visit to Liujia town where a greeting ceremony and embroidery demonstration will be arranged. I feel these Dong women produce some of the finest quality embroidery (even their shoes are embroidered). They also weave black and white belts and beautiful colorful woven strips that surround their embroidery. We will visit Chenyang Bridge, the largest wind and rain bridge in China. We will sample the famous Dong oily tea nearby the bridge. B/L/D.

Sanjiang/Longsheng/Guilin Guilin Sheraton Hotel, 5 star
Visit the famous terraced paddy fields at Longsheng and visit to Red Yao Village. We will stop at Huangluo Red Yao Village for lunch and performance including hair demonstration and the making of festival costumes. B/L/D.

One free day in Shanghai for touring, museums, Jin Mao Tower or shopping. Lunch and dinner on your own, you will pay any fees, etc. We can arrange guide and driver if needed. B.

Depart Shanghai for USA. You can easily take taxi to airport to avoid paying additional fee for airport transfer. Arrive home same day, Nov 23, after crossing International Dateline.
Extra days in Shanghai can be easily arranged.
